CBN Secure Technologies, Inc.

Danville, Virginia

Architectural Partners (AP), in cooperation with Blair Construction, began a new partnership with CBN Secure Technologies Inc. in Southside, Virginia. CBN needed to develop a new, high security facility in the Cyber Park located in Danville, Virginia. The first requirement was for a color rendering of the building concept to be used by CBN in publications.

Thus 9,300 square foot building needed to meet CBN’s limited time schedule and budgeting constraints. The task facing the design team was how to evoke the traditional style of CBN Canadian headquarters in a much simpler, quick to build, and cost effective facility. A tilt-up concrete structure proved to be a direct fit to CBN’s program and needs, especially the added concern of high security. The team developed a building concept that incorporated the use of site poured, tilt-up concrete panels to create a highly secure building envelope. All windows and doors include secure glass and frame treatments to maintain security while creating a light filled interior environment. The building has an office area and a separate manufacturing area with shipping and receiving facilities. The program also required flexibility for seamless future expansion.
